Welcome to the Oconto Unified School District!

The Oconto Unified School District is a dedicated educational community located in Oconto, Wisconsin, covering an area of 75 square miles. Oconto lies on the spectacular shores of the Bay of Green Bay. A quick 30-minute drive north of the bustling city of Green Bay, Oconto is considered to be the start of the true Wisconsin Northwoods. Situated between dense forests, beautiful wetlands, stunning shorelines, and more than 33 sites on the National Register of Historic Places, you’ll see why Oconto’s motto is “History on the Bay.”

OUSD serves approximately 1,000 students across three well-equipped school buildings:

  1. Oconto Elementary School: This facility offers a comprehensive education for young learners from Early Childhood through 4th grade. The Early Childhood Program is a specialized program designed for 3 and 4-year-olds who have been identified as needing special education services, ensuring that every child receives the support and resources they need from the start. Oconto Elementary School also houses Oconto Head Start and Oconto Preschool Center.

  2. Oconto Middle School: Catering to the unique developmental needs of early adolescents, the middle school provides a nurturing environment that fosters academic growth and personal development for children in grades 5 through 8.

  3. Oconto High School: This facility delivers a robust high school curriculum to students in grade 9 through 12. OHS offers many sports and clubs for its students to participate in. It also houses the Northeast Wisconsin Learning Academy (NWLA), an alternative education program for students in grades 9-12. NWLA is dedicated to offering a flexible and supportive learning environment for students who benefit from a non-traditional educational approach.

The Oconto Unified School District is committed to providing high-quality education and support to all its students, preparing them for success in their academic and personal lives.
