💙💛 We are starting our ALUMNI series with a very bright graduate of OUSD. 𝓞𝓤𝓢𝓓 𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒊 𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒕𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕….𝓜𝓮𝓮𝓽 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 💙

Seth is a sophomore at UW Madison and graduated from Oconto High School in the year 2019. He is presently pursuing Chemical Engineering in Madison and plans to work as a CHEMICAL ENGINEER. Seth's parents are educators. His mother Mrs. Star Malczewski is a teacher of English in the middle school. 😀😀

🎓𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞? I loved that Oconto had such a strong science and math department. I learned so much that is helping me at Madison in the chemical engineering department. 𝐌𝐫𝐬.𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐬 made learning even the most advanced concepts easy. I felt very prepared for my ACT tests and for the courses I'm taking at Madison. Seth is grateful to the teachers who “helped to push him to be the best student that he could be."

🎓𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬? At OHS, I was in jazz band, pep band, math team, and cross country.

🎓𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 '𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭'? My mom will want me to say her English class, but I loved band. Sorry, Mom. 😀

🎓𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬? I would tell other 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. We all face obstacles, and while autistic students may face different obstacles from their peers, we can still overcome them and succeed.

𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐳𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐤𝐢 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 -- " I am so proud of the love Seth shows for his younger brother and sister, and the dedication he shows to his schoolwork. He has really overcome so many obstacles because he has Asperger's, but, with the help of caring teachers and friends, he has achieved every goal he's put in front of himself. 🎓By SHARING Seth's success story, we hope that students on spectrum will feel encouraged and motivated to be the best version of themselves. We understand that many aspects of parenting can be tougher for moms and dads with kids on the autism spectrum but SETH's journey is an inspiration for the parents of those children with autism to find their potential within and write their own success stories one day.
